Our College to High School Mentorship Program strives to equal the playing field between students by offering free personalized mentorship to all high school students. Mentees and mentors are paired based on their goals, interests, and experiences in order to offer the best possible experience for mentors and mentees.
College students interested in being mentors and highschoolers interested in being mentees fill out a form detailing specific information about themselves regarding general skills and interests, as well as some helpful background information. Mentors are interviewed, screened, and trained. Pairings are then assigned based on the responses given by students using our trained AI systems that facilitate the matching process. Mentees also have the option to request specific mentors on the form. Based on availability, skills, and interest, connections are made. A mentorship connection lasts for six months, with students meeting monthly or bi-weekly depending on preference. After the initial period, the mentee and mentor can choose to continue with the same connection, be assigned with a new mentor/mentee, or exit the program.
Our College to High School Mentorship Program is FREE TO ALL STUDENTS. Mentees can receive support in the areas of their choosing from resume building to exploring a specific interest. Our one-to-one mentoring relationships help expand personal and professional growth and development. Morningside Mentors allow mentors and mentees to gain new knowledge and develop relevant, applicable skills. Connections work together to create expectations and decide what goals they want to pursue.
